Statement on the Dark Woods Fire
– From Jason & Mardy Summerlin, Owners/Operators
“We were heartbroken to discover a structural fire in the Gate House building of Dark Woods Adventure Park and Dark Woods Haunted Attraction. The fire report indicates this was caused by an electrical situation within a parked golf cart and was not the act of arson.
Despite the situation, we feel incredibly lucky there were no injuries and are moved beyond words by the outpouring of support from our community and the hundreds of people that came to our assistance this morning.
We thank the City of Natchitoches Fire Department and City of Natchitoches Utilities, Tim Moran, and Brad Pickett Electric for their speedy work on this and look forward to reopening as soon as we can to welcome the community back to Dark Woods for Christmas in the Park and Lost Treasure Mining Co.
Please stay tuned to our Facebook and social media for regular updates.
